8.8 Story of Sam
I still remember the day, many years back, The day that I discovered my
incredible
god given talent to amaze and bewilder all my friends. Today, I really
don't
use my ability much, but now and then I will find myself back into the old
positions
Doing all the old poses.
But getting back to the story, It was a cold may day, late in the month,
Where I lived
The school's had been shut down because of a terrible wind storm and all the
kids
were huddled at home trying to find things to do. At the time I was at the
young
age of 17, I had long blond hair and bright blue eyes. I of course, was thin
and
beautiful (At least my mother and father told me that). Well I was sitting
at home
alone, staring mostly blankly at the wall when it occured to me. Just
because the
power is out doesn't mean I can't have a buncha friends over for a
sleepover!
I bolted downstairs, knocking on the door to my parents room.
"Mom! Dad! Can I have a sleepover?", I announced through the door.
After a few minutes of debate. My parents agreed, I ran back upstairs to use
the phone,
calling every friend I could think of.
Well not 2 hours later I had a mob of 7 giggling teenage girls all around my
house.
most of them younger than be by a year or so. As the night grew later and
the wind
outside grew louder, the 8 of us retreated upstairs to my massive room. We
all sat
in out jammies talking about the regular stuff, boys, school, and just
regular
gossip. Well as the night progressed and we all got comphy we started a game
of truth or dare
The regular questions were asked "Who have you kissed?" or "Who do you like"
Then suddenly
a statement was made that stopped the whole room. "Dare", I said. to the
amazement of all
the others, who had been answering 'truth' all night. Well I sat, smiling
waiting for what
silly dare to be made... "You are in gymnastics right Sam?" One of the girls
asked me. "Yep",
I replied. Well, that light a light over one of the girls, they all gathered
together whispering.
"Okay Sam, We have decided that your dare is to put your leg, behind your
head". "What?" I gasped
Never hearing about this being done before. "Is that even possible?" I
pleaded. We don't
know, thats why we are getting you to try. "Well at least let me get
changed first, I don't
want to ruin my pj's.
After changing into a nice red leotard, which from the group I got a giggle.
I sat on the floor
looking at them all, hoping for some sort of mercy. "Do it" one of the girls
announce. So I
take a deep breath, I take my left leg in one hand and start slowly pulling
it up towards myself
I keep going, getting it to the top of my head, and when I open my eyes, I
realize that I had pushed
my leg down past my head, and almost down to my shoulder. "My goodness!" I
thought to myself.
"C'mon! thats simple, you can do better than that!" I announce, very proud
of my accomplishment
"Put the other one behind then!". I lay down on my back, and again, with no
real effort slide the other
leg behind my head, and onto my shoulder resting ontop of my other ankle.
"Ha!" I grin. "I know
you can do better than that" I say, letting my legs down, and sliding them
into a side split,
rolling my hips forward, and resting my whole body on the floor, propping
myself up by my elbows
smiling. I wiggle my toes just for the added enjoyment.
"We will do worse. Believe us."
